Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our careers counselling services and approach to career fulfillment.

Career counselling is a structured, supportive process that helps you understand your strengths, interests, skills, and values so you can make informed decisions about study, training, and work pathways. It includes career conversations, assessments, SMART goal-setting, practical planning, and executive coaching.

I work with:

  • Secondary school students (Years 7-12)
  • Young adults and career starters
  • NDIS participants
  • Adults returning to study or work
  • Career-changers exploring new pathways
  • Parents and schools seeking structured guidance for students
  • Executives seeking strategic coaching into leadership roles

Career counselling focuses specifically on education, training, and employment pathways. Our work is strengths-based, practical, and future-focused, designed to help you gain clarity, confidence and direction.

We use a range of recognised evidence-based career and vocational assessments,

which may include:

  • Interest inventories
  • Strengths and personality-based tools
  • Skills and capability assessments
  • Work readiness assessments
  • Vocational profiling for NDIS participants

These are selected based on your needs, goals and developmental stage.

For students, career counselling can support:

  • Subject selection
  • VCE/VPC/VCE-VM pathways
  • Apprenticeship and traineeship preparation
  • Work experience planning
  • University/TAFE research
  • Goal-setting and transitions beyond school

Sessions generally run for 60 minutes, depending on the service. Assessment-based packages may include longer sessions or a series of appointments to ensure thorough, personalised guidance. During your initial 'Getting to Know You' session, we'll explore your goals, strengths, and needs, allowing us to recommend the number and type of sessions that will best support your individual pathway. You may only need one session to get you on the right path, however, if coaching is required, this may take up to six sessions.
